All patients on admission to the center, will undertake a neuropsychological assessment, functional assessment,  emotional and behavioural asessment and motor function exploration to adjust their intervention and stimulation  in a specific form.


CEDAEN
look after various types of  neurodegenerative diseases:

  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Vascular Dementia ( from multi-heart attacks)
  • Dementia with Lewy bodies
  • Frontal-temporal Dementia

Less common types of neurodegenerative diseases:

  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Huntington's Disease
  • Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease and other prion Diseases
  • Dementia in HIV / AIDS
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
  • Ataxia of Friedreich
  • Spinal muscular Atrophy


SERVICES

The unit aims to provide complete and multidisciplinary care to dementia patients. In addition to the continuing care (patient and family) along the disease. They offer a variety of services:

  • Patients (specialist Health Care and cognitive stimulation workshops improving personal autonomy)
  • Families (psychological individualized Attention, training courses for care assistants, and group therapy)
  • Community (Training and Research)

The multidisciplinary team comprises the following professionals: Nursing Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Nurses, Doctors, Neuropsychologist, and clinical Psychologist.

We also have the services of the social worker who coordinates the Center and serves as a liaison between the medical staff and relatives of patients, and ensures that their needs are met, emotional support (psychotherapy / counseling), with emphasis on the psychosocial issues the family may have. And inform the family of social resources to which the patient is entitled or incumbent.
